New OFRA project manager
CABI is very pleased to announce that Dr Wondimu Bayu has started work as the the new project manager for OFRA. In addition he will also work in CABI’s Africa Soil Health Consortium (ASHC) where he will provide technical backstopping with a focus on material development and scale-up campaigns related to fertilizer use in the context of ISFM.

Before joining CABI, Wondimu was based at ICARDA (International Centre for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas) as the Watershed Research Project national coordinator, a position he held for 5 years. Prior to that he was the director, Crop Research Directorate at the Amhara Agricultural Research Institute (ARARI), Ethiopia; and, research centre director at Sirinka Agricultural Research Centre, Ethiopia.
Wondimu has a PhD in agronomy from University of Pretoria, Pretoria, South Africa; an MSc in sustainable agriculture, University of London (Wye College), UK; and, BSc in plant sciences, Alemaya Univ. of Agriculture, Alemaya, Ethiopia.
Principle investigators and other colleagues from the 13 OFRA partner countries have been quick to welcome Wondimu.
